Holywell Pet Cemetery
The Pet cemetery has been listed as one of the top places for families to visit in Flintshire during the summer holidays. Although an unusual choice, with its award winning beautifully manicured gardens, statues, memorials, visitor centre, chapel and cafe serving delicious home-made food, it is easy to see why. It also has a great cafe serving homemade food. The cemetery has chickens and ducks, a picnic area and toilet facilities. The gardens are really well kept and kids can run around and play safely whilst parents sit and relax with a drink.

St Winefried’s museum and well
A visit to Holywell wouldn’t be complete with a visit to the well that gave the town its name. According to the legend, a spring first erupted at the spot where Winefried was murdered, she was brought back to life by the prayers of her uncle St Beuno. Since that time, her well has been a place of pilgrimage and healing. The beautiful 16th Century shrine is a Grade I Listed Building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The well and adjacent musueam are open from 12.00 to 16.00 hours, on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1st April-30th Sept.
